Cover Letters
Cover letters are used when you send or fax your resume to a prospective employer or for when you drop off your resume and application to an employer. You don't have to do one if you plan on talking to the manager in person. But, you must do one if you send or fax your resume if you really want the job!
At the Monster.com site there is a great example of a cover letter for you to follow. Please click on the link.
Things I will be looking for when grading your letter:
**Send your letter to an employer related to your objective on your resume. Look up their address or make up one. (Don't leave out the address.)
**Not more than one or two "I's" when starting paragraphs.
** At least three small, concise paragraphs.
**Use of the same heading from your resume. Use block format-everything on the left margin-NO INDENTING.
**Refer to your resume enclosed.
**Always check print preview before printing. The letter should be one page only and should be vertically aligned -(not too much up top or bottom.)
**That it is! Now don't forget to sign it!
